  Program

Song was America the Beautiful

Carol Rausch led the Pledge

Tom Aderhold led the prayer

Steve Alanis led the Four-Way Test.

The program today was Dr. Hudson De Yoe, biology professor at UTPA Dr. De Yoe, who spoke to us about seagrasses in Laguna Madre. The balance of the seagrass growth in the Laguna Madre is a important contribution to the economy of South Padre. Seagrass helth is endangered because of run off from the Arroyo Colorado that introduces toxins and sallinity chane. In addition, boat prop scarring damages seagrasses. Good water quality by improving treatment quality, establishing an effective management program, and making the public aware of the need to save seagrasses.
