VISION

The Board of Directors of the SOS Foundation have identified six areas of focus for the new community service funding projects. These areas reflect critical humanitarian issues and needs that Rotarians are addressing worldwide. They will align Rotary with other international development efforts and will strategically further the Foundation's mission.

PURPOSE

The SOS Foundation's purpose is to provide funding for approved educational, charitable and humanitarian service projects initiated by the Rotary Club of Edinburg, Texas.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Service Over Self Foundation's philosophy regarding community service funding projects and making contributions to community, regional, national, and international organizations is based on the belief that such contributions should enhance the quality of life in Rotary International six areas of focus:

The most successful and sustainable Rotary service tends to fall within one of the following six areas:

– Peace and conflict prevention/resolution.
– Disease prevention and treatment.
– Water and sanitation.
– Maternal and child health.
– Basic education and literacy.
– Economic and community development

SERVICE PROJECTS

The SOS Foundation of the Rotary Club of Edinburg Texas, places strong emphasis on educational programs, youth-oriented programs, and humanitarian programs focused on poverty, health and human services communities.
